Mr. Rack, founder of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the planning and drafting of estate planning documents and the administration of trusts and decedents’ estates. He handles sophisticated asset protection and wealth preservation matters, including related estate and gift taxation compliance transactions. He is also experienced in the litigation and mediation of estate and trust disputes, will contests, trustee removals and related fiduciary matters. Mr. Rack is also recognized for his experience in legal matters affecting the elderly.
Mr. Rack has been selected by his peers as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for 2009, 2010 and 2011. For six of the past eight years, Mr. Rack has been named as one of Virginia's "Legal Elite" in Virginia Business magazine in the category of attorneys specializing in taxation, trusts and estates. Mr. Rack has also been named to the list of Virginia "Super Lawyers" for the last three years.
Kevin is a Past President of the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council, and is a Past Chairman of the Elder Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. In 2007, Mr. Rack received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Virginia Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.Mr. Rack served on the Governor's Advisory Board on Aging during the Allen Administration and as Chairman of the Mayor's Committee for the Aging in Virginia Beach. He served on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, and recently completed several terms as Founding Chairman of the Planned Gifts Advisory Committee for the Chapter.
Mr. Rack serves on the Board of Directors for Children's Health Systems, and he previously served on the Children's Health Foundation Board and the Development Advisory Board for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Symphony.Kevin is married to Michelle ReDavid Rack, who serves as counsel to the Firm, and they reside in Middle Plantation with their two daughters, Peyton and Emily.
