The Estate Steward Program is the culmination of several years of planning and refinement of a customized structure for clients to reap the full benefit of the time and effort expended in implementing their estate planning documents. Given that estate planning is more an ongoing process than a completed project, it is critical to examine those documents in the context of changing family and financial circumstances, not to mention the changes to the legislative landscape with each election cycle, on a regular basis. This review process enables clients to be good stewards of their legacy to the family.
The Estate Steward Program consists of three distinct membership packages, with fees, services and benefits tailored to meet each individual’s ongoing estate planning needs. Each package includes an annual consultation with an attorney in the Firm to review the current estate planning documents and updated financial records for accuracy and consistency. This meeting provides the opportunity to confirm the accuracy of IRA beneficiary designations, successor trustee nominations, and title to assets in trust, in addition to gathering information on any significant transactions, whether pending or completed (for example, gifts of family business stock to grandchildren), in order to identify the need for legal and tax counsel on those matters.
Estate Steward Program members constitute a select list of clients whom we commit to providing additional counsel and advisory services which we could not possibly give to all clients. For interested clients, or for those who may be clients and are interested in the benefits of this unique program for estate planning clients, the details of each membership level are provided on the Membership Level page of this website. If you have questions or would like to speak with someone regarding the program please contact our Director of Marketing, Erin Hamberg, at 605-5000.
